Today was all about a single length bash where the odd quater of a second can make a huge difference in position. Bethan has been training well and a PB was more than possible. We met Orla Adams in the morning after the warm up and for those that remember her she hasn't changed much, still as talkative as ever!
The 50 Free was the first race and Bethan was in Heat 3. She made a good start but perhaps 0-2 of a second down on what she is capable of and went well down the pool pulling ahead of those around her. She lost a bit of time again at the finish by not spotting the wall well on full stretch. Her time was 28.43 a small PB and a good solid race. She ended up 85th out of the 130 or so girls in the race from ages 14-17. That was the end of the racing for Bethan and she headed off home.
I had my final osteopath appointment at 3.00pm! and then went back to the pool to see Steven and get him in for a short swim. He has the 50 free in the morning and the warm up is another 7.30 am start.
