Please find attached details below ( click on link for information and entry forms) of the Gwent Open Meet that the Club is attending on the weekend of 23rd/24th October 2010. All eligible swimmers are expected to attend this meet. It’s a busy meet but a great atmosphere and Newport is a good pool for fast times, and there are many clubs attending which is a good chance to race against strong swimmers from other clubs.
It is a (Welsh)Level 1 standard meet but also contains a Junior Development Level 4 meet, as per previous meets. The main level 1 meet has both consideration times and qualifying times. Entries with qualifying times will be guaranteed entry. Those with consideration times should get in, but it will depend on the number of entries, and if oversubscribed will pick the fastest consideration times first.
Level 1 Meet
- Open to swimmers from 9 years upward with entry times;
- 50/100/200/400m events available, although 50m events are only open to Girls 14+ and Boys 15+;
- 100/200/400m events open to all age groups;
- Skins Competition for certain age groups – chosen from 8 fastest 200IM times on the day.
Level 4 Junior Development Meet
- Only open to ages 9-12 for both boys and girls;
- 50m events for all strokes plus 100m IM;
- You can’t compete in both level 1 and level 4 meet – you must choose one or the other;
- No swimmers times are too slow for entries, but you can’t be faster than the upper cut off times.
Entry closing date is the 20th September 2010, and therefore I need the entry forms back by Sunday 5th September 2010 either to me or in the Club post box, so that I can prepare the electronic entry files and submit the paperwork by the closing date.
Any queries with regard to the qualifying/consideration times please speak to Keith in the first instance or myself after that. Please do not adjust swimmers PB’s to make qualifying times, as I shall use the registered times on the Club database to determine entries when I prepare the electronic files.
Any other queries please let me know,
David
