Speedo League Final Positions
All the results are now in and Southwold has come 11th out of the 18 teams in Division 2. This means that we remain in Division 2 for the 2007 season. As we suspected after the first gala, Blaenau Gwent were promoted to Division 1 along with Yeovil.
Well Done everyone!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Speedo League Round 3 Details of the Round 3 Finals (SAT 9th December) can be found HERE .
In an exciting gala, Southwold came an excellent Third Place so we should end up in the middle of Division 2 when all the results are in. Final Points were: Newton Abbot 179 Kingsbridge Kingfishers 169 Southwold 151 Exmouth 143 Bath Dolphins 104 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Speedo League Round 2 Results from Round 2 Speedo at Hutton Moor Bristol Henleaze - 211 Clevedon - 204 Southwold - 166 Exmouth - 161 Newquay - 152 Bath Dolphins - 148 This was a great result for us and excellent swimming from all, with 50% of events swum faster than the last round. This result has secured our place in this division for another season as we are in the Middle Finals group along with Bath Dolphins and Exmouth who we have just beaten in this round! Results now on Hy-Tek web database. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Speedo League Round 1 At an intensely competitive gala in the Keynsham pool, Southwold faced stiff opposition in Round 1. There were some outstanding swims from a number of our swimmers and solid performances from all the squad, despite some swimmers having to swim up to 7 times on the night, in many cases against year groups older than they were! In an exciting finish the final results were; Blaenau Gwent - 238 Glamorgan Valleys - 213 Clevedon - 155 Newton Abbot - 154 Southwold - 146 Bristol Central - 137
Well done to everyone who took part - We suspect that Blaenau Gwent and Glamorgan Valleys will be contesting for promotion this season so we should not be surprised that they fielded such strong teams. With a full squad available to us for the next round we should be able to significantly improve on this result. Overall results can be downloaded from HERE Individual results for Southwold swimmers now on the Hy-Tek online database. Southwold records broken at the gala can be downloaded HERE |
