**Celebrating over 50 years of Southwold Swimming Club**

Annual General Meeting 2025

The Annual General Meeting of Southwold Swimming Club will be held on Sunday 13th July 2025 at 6.00pm at Yate Leisure Centre.  This is an important meeting and it would be great if as many as possible could attend.

The Annual General Meeting is held in July each year. This is where we share the highlights from the swim year so far, through reports from the Head Coach, Chair, Membership Secretary and a summary report from the Treasurer. This year, we will also be sharing our aspirations for the Club and future plans. As well as this, we will elect the Executive Officers and Committee Members for the coming year as set out in our Club Constitution.

If you are interested in finding out more about how you can become more involved in the Club or if you would like to find out more about joining the committee, please contact any committee member to discuss. Contact information is on the Club website and on the ‘Who’s Who’ in Swim Club Manager.

The roles that will be elected to at the AGM are below, alongside the role descriptors suggested by Swim England

Executive roles

Club Chair: The Chairperson is an elected member of the Committee with responsibility for overseeing the running of the club. The Chairperson leads on Governance of the club in line with Swim England and the Club Constitution.

Treasurer: The Treasurer’s role is primarily financial, with key responsibility for ensuring and maintaining the credit balance and accounts of the club in good order. The Treasurer is responsible for preparing the club accounts annually.

Secretary: The Secretary deals with the club’s administration and has an impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of the club’s management.

Committee Roles

Committee Members: The Committee are responsible for supporting the Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Committee members are responsible for the smooth day to day running of the Club, which includes setting and reviewing policy. Some Committee Members hold a specific role within the Committee; some of these are detailed below.

Membership Secretary: The Club Membership Secretary is the key link between the Club and Swim England’s membership team. They ensure that all Club members are members of Swim England.

As most of you will know, there are a number of other roles that are currently completed by members of the Committee, but which could be completed by a non-Committee member. We will write to members separately, after the AGM, seeking volunteers for some of these roles. In the meantime, if you would like to know more, please do email the Club or speak to a member of t he Committee.

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM on 13th July to hear our aspirations for the Club and future plans.
