Founders Gala - Sat 4th July 2009
We are very sorry to have to inform you that we have had to cancel the Founders Gala on Saturday 4th July.
Your team managers will phone their team members with this information to ensure that all swimmers know about this cancellation. If any of you have any questions then please direct them to your team manager.
We are trying to rearrange the time and venue of this years Founders Gala and your team managers will speak to you as soon as we have any more information.
We are all very frustrated and disappointed by this situation and ask for your patience and understanding at this time as this is entirely due to circumstances beyond our control .

Richard Bristol North Diddy Team Gala - Saturday 11th July 2009 The swimmers below have been selected to represent Southwold in the Diddy Gala hosted by Bristol North, to be held at Horfield on 11 July 2009. Please arrive by 4:40pm for a 5.00pm warm up. All swimmers require a Club top to wear during the event and a Southwold swim hat if they wear one. Please indicate if you can swim by ticking off your name on the team list which will be posted on the Notice Board on Sunday 21st. You can download a copy of the team list HERE Keith Gloucester County ASA 2009 Open Water Championships - Henleaze Lake on Sunday 12th July 2009 Gloucester County ASA 2009 Open Water Championships are being held at Henleaze Lake on Sunday 12th July 2009. Whilst the club does not manage the entries for this event, Southwold swimmers have traditionally made up a high percentage of the entrants to this event. In fact we won overall 2 years ago and the more swimmers we have the better chance we have. If you have never tried this before we recommend that you have a go it is a very different experience from swimming in a pool! This year it is open to swimmers who are 11 years old by the 31st December 2009. Swimmers must submit their entries individually. 1. Poster 3. Entry Form UPDATE: The club needs to provide 2 timekeepers for each race at this event. Its not difficult, you just need to be able to start/stop a stopwatch (which will be provided) and record the time. You dont need to get there any earlier than the swimmers. If you can help please contact Jason Moore at jason@themoorehome.co.uk or on 07795 414816. Hopefully we will get several volunteers and you wont have to cover every race. Without volunteers these events cannot take place. Keith Southwold Annual General Meeting This will take place on Monday 20th July at 7.30pm in the Courtside meeting room at Yate Leisure Centre. Please try to make every effort to attend as we must be quorate at this meeting to formally agree a number of constitutionally required items, such as the election of next years committee. An agenda will be posted shortly. Helen Hall (Treasurer) Bristol Junior Triathlon Saturday 25th July 2009 For something a little different why not try the Bristol Junior Triathlon? You can find details HERE Bob Duck Stroke Development Swim Camp Thornbury swimming club is running a stroke development camp at Tockington Manor School Pool Monday 17 Aug to Friday 21 Aug - 9.00am till 4.30pm . Details can be found HERE Keith Bristol North Junior Open Meet - 19th & 26th Sept. 2009 - Tigersharks ASC Separated Medley Open Meet - Sunday 19th July 2009 Details can be found HERE Cartwright Trophy - Saturday 27th June 2009 Some great racing and big PBs by Southwold swimmers at the Cartwright Trophy. Unfortunately we were up against a Keynsham team that was just a fraction too strong for us. We fought well and stayed in touch for most of the gala but just lost out in the end. There were individual wins for Anna Britton, Bethan Tomlinson, Alice Constable, David Holt, Ben Newman and Jayden Cole. We had relay wins in the 10 under and 12 under boys races. Final points were: Keynsham - 189 Southwold - 183 Thornbury - 176 Bristol North - 102 Brockworth - 70 It is great to see so many PBs even at this time of the season and after the recent Southern Junior League galas, well done to all.
