Long Term Athlete Development

Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) is a set of principles that have been developed over a number of years that give guidelines as to the type of activities and volume of training that is need to develop athletic ability to its potential. The model recognises the various stages of development of different ages and sexes. The links on the right give more detail but in essence if you want to follow an olympic dream you will need to work hard and commit to the sport for a long time.
